The Age of Discovery
The virus crisis has made us discover that we yearn for discovery. We want new places uncovered, in ourselves and others. Also geographically.
We now leave the cities we have lived in and perhaps slightly loved, and move to Utah and Nevada and Texas, and Idaho and Florida. We push the frontiers, in the hope of finding hidden things. We are illness enforced, malaise driven nomads digging for gold remotely, via working from home.
But this journey has happened before, and all we are left to deal with is after the fact. Florida is swampily humid, Texas is peasantly dry, and Idaho -- where is it and what is there to find? After the journey has been accomplished, we will have discovered we want to go back.
